Bullying
Have you ever been picked on at school or in your work place? It isn't a nice feeling is it. Makes you feel down and can make you lose your self-confidence. Bullying is definately different from just having fights with your friends because fights are usually unpleasant but not serious. If you see someone being bullied you can help.
Studies reckon that about 1 in 10 students are being bullied and the majority of students want to stop bullying in schools. In fact most schools now have some kind of policy to stop it happening - but they need your help for these to work.
If you are feeling bullied there are things you can do. First think seriously about how it makes you feel and make sure that you aren't speaking out because you believe what the builliers are telling you. What you need to know is that it isn't your problem.. it is theirs. Talking to someone else about it can help.
If someone threatens you or hurts you, it is not acceptable and you need to seek support. Asking for help is your right and is different from 'dobbing'. Fighting back may only land you in trouble.
The kinds of people you can talk to include friends, your parents or teachers you trust. School counsellors or Kids Help Line can be valuable sources of information.
